Passengers planning to travel between Twyford and Henley-on-Thames next week are being urged to plan ahead as Network Rail undertakes track maintenance work.<\/p>\n

100m of track, sleepers and ballast will be replaced to keep the line safe and reliable, whilst structural surveys and other maintenance including the removal of overgrown vegetation will also take place.<\/p>\n

The line between Twyford and Henley-on-Thames will be closed from Monday 28th<\/sup> July until Friday 1st<\/sup> August as work takes place. Bus replacement services will be in operation; passengers can visit gwr.com\/upgrade for further details.<\/p>\n

Network Rail programme director Jason Pankhurst said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOur engineers will be working around the clock to complete this important work which will keep trains running smoothly for passengers for years to come.<\/p>\n

\u201cPassengers planning to travel next week are advised to plan ahead as bus replacement services will be in operation between Twyford and Henley-on-Thames.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d like to thank passengers for their patience in advance as we deliver this work to improve the railway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mian Sarwar, GWR Station Manager for Slough & Maidenhead, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cGWR will be providing replacement bus services between Twyford and Shiplake via Henley-on-Thames from Monday 28 July to Friday 1 August.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an alternative, season tickets will also be valid for journeys on the branch line between Marlow and Maidenhead for onward connections.<\/p>\n

\u201cValid rail tickets can also be used to travel on the number 850 Carousel bus service operating between Henley and Twyford instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s important that customers are aware these alternative travel arrangements could make journey times much longer, so please plan ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
