Eurostar has announced that from 15th December 2025, Eurostar will operate five direct trains per day in each direction, offering passengers even greater flexibility and convenience when travelling between the UK and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

This significant milestone was made possible thanks to the opening of the brand-new cross-channel terminal in Amsterdam in February 2025, allowing Eurostar to triple its capacity on the route – from 275 passengers in 2024 to more than 650 passengers per train at the end of this year. With this upgrade, the terminal will operate at full capacity, providing a seamless travel experience from city centre to city centre.<\/p>\n

Following the opening of the new terminal, passenger volume from London to Amsterdam is now up +18% year-on-year, compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n

“London to Amsterdam is one of the busiest routes by plane in Europe. With five daily returns, and 3000+ seats per day, we are offering a sustainable alternative to travel between the UK and the Netherlands,” said Gwendoline Cazenave, CEO of Eurostar.<\/p>\n

“Since February, we\u2019ve seen exceptional demand on our Amsterdam route, and the addition of a fifth daily service gives customers more choice and flexibility. It\u2019s our ambition to offer a sustainable alternative and grow international high-speed rail as customers first choice across Europe.”<\/p>\n

Business travel continues to play a key role in this route’s success. Between London and Amsterdam, 15% of passengers in 2024 were business customers, highlighting the importance of this route for corporate connectivity.<\/p>\n

The Netherlands remains a strategic market for Eurostar, offering substantial growth potential in sustainable travel. In 2024 alone, Eurostar transported 4.3 million passengers to and from the Netherlands. Eurostar has set an ambitious target to carry 30 million passengers annually, supported by the acquisition of a new fleet and additional destinations out of Amsterdam such as Geneva.<\/p>\n
