{"id":24586,"date":"2024-04-03T15:36:28","date_gmt":"2024-04-03T05:36:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=24586"},"modified":"2024-04-03T15:36:28","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T05:36:28","slug":"comment-darren-caplan-responds-to-network-rails-cp7-delivery-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=24586","title":{"rendered":"COMMENT: Darren Caplan responds to Network Rail\u2019s CP7 delivery plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Commenting on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.networkrail.co.uk\/\">Network Rail\u2019s<\/a> delivery plan for Control Period 7 from April 2024 to March 2029,\u00a0Railway Industry Association Chief Executive Darren Caplan\u00a0said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">Railway Industry Association<\/a> welcomes the publication this week of Network Rail\u2019s strategic priorities over the next five years, and its emphasis on boosting the performance and reliability of the rail network in the next Control Period, CP7.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRIA member companies from across the rail supply chain stand ready to support the delivery of the key work streams in the various NR regions, and will work closely with NR to improve the railway\u2019s climate resilience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, as we have regularly said, a rail investment strategy needs to include a comprehensive enhancements plan, given the significant infrastructure upgrades which lie ahead. We again urge the Government to publish a plan which sets out which rail schemes in Network North, the Integrated Rail Plan for the North &amp; Midlands, and the Rail Network Enhancements Pipeline it intends to bring forward over the next five years.
