It was announced earlier in the week the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=241524\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Fresh West Gate Tunnel cost blow out to double initial $6.3bn price\">cost of the project has lifted to DOUBLE<\/a> what the business case was based upon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"360\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 640 \/ 360;\" width=\"640\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Ko3ik_BNTYBMb0Mu.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This project should never have been undertaken the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=95308\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"The significantly flawed Westgate Tunnel Project a blight on Melbourne\">business case was clearly flawed as was the planning and the execution<\/a>.
