People who travel on the Gold Coast and Beenleigh<\/a> lines are being urged to allow extra time and plan their travel over the Easter school holidays in advance, with track closures required to allow for critical Cross River Rail<\/a> works.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Track closures on parts of the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines will take place from Good Friday (29 March) to Sunday 14 April.<\/p>\n

Cross River Rail Delivery Authority CEO Graeme Newton said the partial closures allow crews to perform the crucial work safely and efficiently, which isn\u2019t possible with trains running.<\/p>\n

\u201cCross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through South East Queensland in the future, but that means there are some impacts to travel and transport services during construction,\u201d Newton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile the works are deliberately planned for during the quieter school holiday period, we understand some rail customers will be inconvenienced.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thank customers for their patience as we continue delivering this city-shaping project.\u201d<\/p>\n

The works require continuous and intensive work in the rail corridor, and will include track reconfiguration, signalling and testing at the stations from Dutton Park to Salisbury.<\/p>\n

The scope of the works also includes installation of a new 45 tonne pedestrian overpass at Pimpama, structural steel works at Yeerongpilly, adding new tactiles and coping to improve accessibility at Dutton Park and building the overhead line structures at Clapham Yard.<\/p>\n

Plenty of alternative transport options will be available during the closures, including express and all stop rail replacement buses.<\/p>\n
