CLIP Intermodal, Poland, has signed contracts with Alstom for a total of 13 Traxx 3 multi-system locomotives.<\/p>\n
The 160km\/h locomotives will be used on the Poland – France corridor and will be certified for operation in Poland, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France. They will be equipped with Alstom\u2019s Onvia (former Atlas) onboard ETCS solution.<\/p>\n
Manufacturing of the locomotives will take place at Alstom\u2019s plant in Kassel, Germany, with locomotive bodies set to be produced at the supplier\u2019s plant in Wroclaw, Poland.<\/p>\n
Clip Intermodal is a subsidiary of the Clip Group, a private group of Polish logistics companies. The company recently expanded its intermodal terminal in Swarz\u0119dz, Poland, to include eight loading tracks with capacity for more than 1 million TEU annually. Clip already has a fleet of 500 intermodal wagons and says investing in its own locomotives is a \u201cnatural\u201d step and milestone in the development of Clip Group.<\/p>\n
