AUSTRALIA\u2019s Queensland government has shortlisted contractors to tender for three works packages for the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project, which will quadruple the 20km section of the Brisbane – Gold Coast line between Kuraby and Beenleigh.<\/p>\n
As well as boosting capacity, the project will cut journey times and improve safety by replacing three level crossings with road bridges and eliminating two additional crossings. Stations will also be upgraded.<\/p>\n
The shortlisted consortia selected for the three work packages comprise:<\/p>\n
LGC Rail Package track quadrupling package: ActivUs consortium consisting of CPB Contractors, Acciona Contractors, UGL Engineering, SMEC Australia and WSP Australia; and the Activate consortium comprising John Holland Queensland, Aurecon Australasia and Aecom<\/p>\n
LGC OLCR Package: Beilby Holdings with JF Hull Holdings; and BMD Constructions with Fulton Hogan Construction, and<\/p>\n
the $A 173.8m ($US 114m) Loganlea Station Relocation Project: ADCO Construction, DT Infrastructure, and a joint venture of Martinus Rail and Degnan.<\/p>\n
The successful bidders will be announced later this year.<\/p>\n
The entire Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project is estimated to cost $A 5.75bn and will be funded jointly on a 50:50 basis by the Queensland and Australian governments.<\/p>\n
