The Poti Transterminal has cleared the final hurdle and is now officially operational. It adds significant logistics capacity at a key location in Georgia, along the Middle Corridor.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-62865\"><\/span>The opening ceremony is set to take place on 9 June. The general director of the terminal, Olzhas Arykbayev, is enthusiastic: \u201cWe have not just built a terminal, we will create a new level of logistics services in the region, relying on technologies, international partnerships and a strategic view of the development of the Middle Corridor\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The project cost 31,5 million US dollars, which came from Kazakh, Azerbaijani and Georgian investors. As for its capacities, the terminal can service 120 wagons simultaneously and process 50 containers per hour. It can handle 80,000 TEU annually, with the possibility of a further improvement up to 200,000.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the Poti Transterminal has two gantry cranes \u201cwhich have no analogues\u201d in the Caucasus region.
