Finnish logistics company Nurminen Logistics has begun regular block train shipment from Czechia to Kazakhstan. The trains take auto parts and components to the automotive industry in Kostanay, northern Kazakhstan.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Kostanay is the host of Kazakhstan\u2019s largest automotive factory, belonging to Allur Company. That company is the official manufacturer and distributor of vehicles for \u0160koda, Chevrolet, Kia, and more, explains Nurminen Logistics. After a test run in January, trains will now be heading to Kazakhstan on a monthly basis.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrains run from Prague to Kostanay along the Trans-Caspian route, which bypasses Russia. This route has become increasingly important for European companies. In the spring of 2022, Nurminen Logistics was one of the industry pioneers when it started transporting on the route\u201d, the Finnish company comments.<\/p>\n

“We have done a lot of work and operational development with different operators and ports to ensure a competitive delivery time and a functional connection. Nurminen’s long history, expertise and recognition in Central Asian countries have helped us in this”, says Marjut Linnaj\u00e4rvi, Nurminen Logistics’ Director of International Rail Traffic and Sales.<\/p>\n

Automotive logistics are becoming increasingly important on the Middle Corridor. For example, the rail hub in Xi\u2019an, China, is seeing growing volumes of automotive shipments in the western direction. Chinese automotive companies like BYD, Chery, Geely, and Hongqi are some of the key shippers through the terminal.<\/p>\n
