{"id":21964,"date":"2024-03-23T00:37:34","date_gmt":"2024-03-22T14:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=21964"},"modified":"2024-03-23T00:37:34","modified_gmt":"2024-03-22T14:37:34","slug":"mystery-of-the-lner-train-found-in-belgium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=21964","title":{"rendered":"Mystery of the LNER train found in Belgium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s more than 400 miles from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lner.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LNER\u2019s<\/a> current home in York, but an LNER train has been unearthed by archaeologists in Antwerp in Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>The modern-day operator of trains on the East Coast Mainline has been in touch with the team who dug up the wagon to try and find out more about the curious discovery.<\/p>\n<p>It appears that the find is a wooden removals truck, used to carry people\u2019s belongings when they moved house. It\u2019s thought to be almost a hundred years old.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a mystery as to how the carriage came to be in Antwerp, and unfortunately there\u2019s very little left of the relic as it disintegrated while being excavated.<\/p>\n<p>LNER Communications Director Stuart Thomas said: \u201cWe\u2019re fascinated by the history of our brand \u2013 just last year we celebrated 100 years since the LNER came into being in 1923.
