The Austrian Federal Railways (\u00d6BB) allocated an additional 19,7 billion euros to improve its rail infrastructure until 2030. When it comes to rail freight, the main initiatives involve four terminals \u2013 W\u00f6rgl, Villach S\u00fcd, Wels and Wien S\u00fcd, for a total of 474 million euros.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The W\u00f6rgl terminal, in the west of the country, will receive 45 million euros and should be completed by 2033. The Villach S\u00fcd facility will get 83 million euros and works are expected to be concluded in 2029. An additional 53 million euros will be invested in the Wels terminal, which should be commissioned by 2027. The Wien S\u00fcd terminal, in eastern Austria, will be getting the most money, 293 million euros, and the project should be completed in 2026.<\/p>\n

The almost 20 billion euros will be added to the 4,8 billion euros already earmarked for railway maintenance, \u00d6BB specified. The vast majority of the funds will be deployed to renew and improve the Austrian railway network. The most notable projects are the Koralmbahn, which will get almost 6 billion euros; the Brenner Base Tunnel, which will get over 5,2 billion euros and the K\u00f6stendorf-Salzburg section, for which 4,6 billion euros are dedicated.<\/p>\n
