In the Polish city of Che\u0142m, construction work has started on a new intermodal terminal. The site is located in the east of the country, on the intersection of standard and broad gauge rail infrastructure.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Logistics company Cedrob Cargo is working on an intermodal grain terminal. It will have transshipment capabilities as well as shunting and siding tracks. A grain drying warehouse with a capacity of up to 100,000 adds to its logistics arsenal.<\/p>\n

The plan for the terminal has been in existence since October 2022. \u201cThanks to the construction of a transshipment terminal and an extensive warehouse base, we will significantly improve cooperation with Polish grain producers in this region\u201d, Cedrob Cargo said at the time.<\/p>\n

Animal feed<\/h2>\n

The company specialises in animal feed production, and will benefit from its involvement in grain transport. \u201cWe will be able to store 100,000 tonnes of grain at a time, which will then be sent to feed factories via Cedrob Cargo intermodal transport.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet, it also seems that the terminal will accommodate Ukrainian grain shipments. It is located close to the Ukrainian border, but above all, it sits right in between Poland\u2019s standard gauge and Ukraine\u2019s broad gauge railways. The terminal will get rail infrastructure in both gauges, allowing for efficient transfers between the two networks.<\/p>\n

The terminal is scheduled for completion in the middle of next year.<\/p>\n
