{"id":200479,"date":"2025-04-14T13:00:52","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T03:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?guid=39f1a3f583cf49b9ffbb13afb3efaf42"},"modified":"2025-04-14T13:00:52","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T03:00:52","slug":"more-bus-services-between-hamilton-cambridge-leamington-and-te-awamutu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=200479","title":{"rendered":"More bus services between Hamilton Cambridge, Leamington and Te Awamutu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Waip\u0101 bus timetables are changing next week with a new weekday service added between Leamington and Cambridge High School.<\/p>\n<p>The 8.05am trip from Leamington to Hamilton will now stop in Taylor Street to allow students to get to Cambridge High School, with the afternoon service to Leamington providing a return trip.<\/p>\n<p>Weekday late night trips between both Cambridge and Hamilton, and Kihikihi\/Te Awamutu and Hamilton, had very low use and will now only run on Friday evenings.<\/p>\n<p>Since daily services and electric buses were introduced to Waip\u0101 in April last year, the council says patronage has increased notably.<\/p>\n<p>Passenger numbers are up 33% in Cambridge and 28% in Te Awamutu-Kihikihi.<\/p>\n<p>Waikato Regional Council and BUSIT reviewed passenger habits over the last 12 months and say they\u2019ve streamlined the timetable to best meet the community\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>Transport manager Bryan Hudson said the changes would be cost neutral.<\/p>\n<p>*Originally published in the Waikato Times on 13 April 2025*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Waip\u0101 bus timetables are changing next week with a new weekday service added between Leamington and Cambridge High School.
