Picture: Instagram<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An operation conducted by NSW Police last year saw a three-month crackdown on the risky behaviour, with police revealing some offenders engage in the highly dangerous practice purely to gain views on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 2023, Transport NSW reported the deaths of eleven people because of illegal trespassing in rail corridors in the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When approached about the footage, a representative for Transport for NSW said, \u201cThis type of behaviour is not only illegal, but it is also reckless and extremely dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBuffer riding is life-threatening for those involved and can have deeply traumatic effects on the people around them, and rail workers, if and when something bad happens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This risky behaviour has already resulted in serious injuries on the rail network.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sydney Trains work with NSW Police to reduce anti-social behaviour and criminal incidents that occur across our network.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"769\" src=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/image-9.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-200438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/image-9.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/image-9-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/image-9-768x577.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The dangerous act has seen an increasing number in injuries and fatalities. Picture: Instagram<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sydney Trains has also revealed that it is currently testing an anti-buffer-riding device on its services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The device will make it increasingly more difficult for people to engage in the risky behaviour.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The disturbing footage gathered over 22,000 on social media, but viewers were less than impressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is not even funny. This is literally idiotic behaviour.
