AtkinsR\u00e9alis<\/a> has been appointed by Translink<\/a> \u2013 Northern Ireland\u2019s main public transport operator \u2013 to\u00a0provide\u00a0design and construction\u00a0management\u00a0on its rail network\u2019s signalling and telecommunications.<\/p>\n

AtkinsR\u00e9alis is one of two suppliers\u00a0to win a place on\u00a0a competitive framework, which has a total estimated value of \u00a3150 million \u2013 \u00a3250 million and will run until 2029, with the option to extend by a further 36 months.<\/p>\n

Translink operates\u00a0passenger rail and bus services in Northern Ireland.\u00a0Its rail network covers around\u00a0300 miles of track which facilitate almost 13\u00a0million passenger journeys annually.[1]\u00a0Under the framework, AtkinsR\u00e9alis will perform multidisciplinary design, construction and commissioning works on a wide range of projects to renew and refurbish Translink\u2019s\u00a0signalling and telecommunications\u00a0infrastructure, including lineside signalling assets, level crossings, and control and interlocking systems.<\/p>\n

With an office in Belfast, AtkinsR\u00e9alis has worked closely with Translink in the past to provide design and consultancy services to assess, repair and maintain its rail network,\u00a0as well as support with the delivery of the world-class Belfast Grand Central Station transportation hub.<\/p>\n

Other\u00a0UK rail projects AtkinsR\u00e9alis is delivering include\u00a0a\u00a0re-signalling scheme<\/a>\u00a0south-east of London, currently in its final phase, and\u00a0its role as\u00a0Railway Systems Integration Partner<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0East Coast Digital Program, the UK\u2019s first intercity digital railway. Additionally, AtkinsR\u00e9alis has designed a state-of-the-art\u00a0signalling test facility in England, and its Advanced Signalling Method (ASM) was the first systems integration product of its kind to gain formal product approval from the UK\u2019s Network Rail.<\/p>\n

AtkinsR\u00e9alis has also been contracted by Transport Infrastructure Ireland to deliver the detailed design for the Advance Works program for Dublin\u2019s\u00a0MetroLink Project, a high capacity, high-frequency metro railway and integrated public transport network.<\/p>\n
