Provided that testing all goes to plan, new-build GWR 4-6-0 No. 6008 Betton Grange will make its public appearance at the Severn Valley Railway\u2019s April 18-21 Spring Steam Gala, before visiting the West Somerset Railway and then the Cotswold Festival of Steam at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway. Meanwhile, Brighton H2 Atlantic replica No. 32424 Beachy Head has made its first appearance outdoors at the Bluebell Railway prior to its debut.<\/p>\n\n

Double Falcons to take flight at Corris after nearly 100 years<\/h2>\n

After almost a century since a pair of Hughes Falcon 0-4-2STs were last seen at Maespoeth Junction, history will be made in June when No. 3 Sir Haydn returns to its former shed on the Corris Railway where it will star alongside that line\u2019s new-build example of the class, No. 10, for the first time since its completion last autumn.<\/p>\n\n

A \u00a3500,000 SOS appeal to save the world\u2019s oldest railway station has been launched by the Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. The group wants to buy derelict Heighington station building on the Tees Valley Line, located between Bishop Auckland and Saltburn, and carry out urgent work to stabilise it in time for the Stockton & Darlington\u2019s 200th anniversary celebrations next year, which are set to attract visitors from around the world.<\/p>\n\n
