Rail Cargo Group (RCG), the rail subsidiary for Austrian national rail operator \u00d6BB, has announced that it is launching two new rail connections between Italy and Germany. Alongside the two new connections, it is increasing the frequency of services on the Verona-Wuppertal line.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>RCG is launching two new rail lines between Italy and Germany. According to the company, these new routes will help alleviate transit traffic in Tyrol because they run through the Brenner Pass. The company also points out that it helps promote the modal shift to sustainable rail transport.<\/p>\n

New routes<\/h2>\n

The rail operator is establishing a direct freight connection between northern Italian Verona and the DUSS terminal in G\u00f6ttingen in Germany. The company will offer 4 round trips on a weekly basis that can transport containers between 20 and 45 feet in length, as well as cranable trailers.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the company is launching a round trip between Padua and Hannover\u2019s Leintor rail terminal. It will offer four round trips per week, with existing plans to expand the route to six round trips weekly. On this route, RCG facilitates the transportation of containers and swap bodies between 20 and 45 feet.<\/p>\n

In addition to the newly established routes, RCG has expanded the frequency of its container, swap bodies and cranable trailer route between Verona and Wuppertal from four to six weekly round-trips.<\/p>\n
