And another change coming soon is a new national ticketing system that would replace\u00a0the current Bee Card\u00a0and allow contactless payments.<\/p>\n
Both topics have come before Waikato\u2019s regional transport committee, which is concerned at \u201cthe apparent disregard for the importance of public transport and its contribution to the wider economic growth and productivity agenda of the government\u201d,\u00a0a report\u00a0said.<\/p>\n
Waikato\u2019s indicative NZTA target is for users to pay 27% of the service costs, the report says, though the regional council and NZTA are in ongoing discussions.<\/p>\n
