For the freight industry, the action will start today, Monday 11 March at 6 pm and will end tomorrow, Tuesday 12 March at 6 pm.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"more-50694\"><\/span>For non-freight-related operations, the strike will start on Tuesday 12 March at 2 am and will end on Wednesday 13 March at 2 am. The union justified this initiative by saying that DB missed the deadline gave by the union to submit a written offer by yesterday, Sunday 10 March at 6 pm. \u201cThe strike will once again have a massive impact on all German rail operations\u201d, DB said, highlighting once again the lack of a 48-hour notice.<\/p>\n<p>More upcoming strikes in Germany were announced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/railfreight\/2024\/03\/08\/more-gdl-strikes-will-come-but-no-date-has-been-set-yet\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">GDL\u2019s boss Claus Weselsky<\/a> at the end of last week. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/humaninterest\/2024\/03\/01\/db-vs-gdl-negotiations-failed-new-strikes-on-the-horizon\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">At the beginning of March<\/a>, in fact, negotiations between the union and DB for a new collective bargaining agreement went south. This led to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railfreight.com\/specials\/2024\/03\/04\/gdl-calls-for-35-hour-strike-to-get-35-hour-working-week\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">35-hour strike<\/a> called by GDL between 6 and 8 March. In other words, this will be their second strike in less than seven days, and the sixth in total since the beginning of negotiations.
