Transport for NSW is working closely with emergency services as Tropical Cyclone Alfred impacts Northern NSW. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Strong winds, heavy rainfall, and potential major flooding are expected from Taree to Tweed Heads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have extra resources along the mid and north coast to assist operations across land and water. We have extra boots on the ground to assist SES with any broader requests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, Transport is working with ARTC to prioritise 2 critical freight services as the last services to provide stock to Coles and Woolworths before the expected arrival of Cyclone Alfred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Transport is advising people to avoid unnecessary travel through areas impacted by Cyclone Alfred. This includes NSW TrainLink north coast services as there are significant and sometimes rapidly changing service disruptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until at least midnight on Friday, all NSW TrainLink north coast train services are terminating at Taree. There is no guarantee of rail replacement buses or coaches north of Taree and they will only operate as far as Casino if safe to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please avoid all non-essential travel, even on public transport, however if you do need to use the network, please plan ahead as the weather may have an impact on our services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
