In the last five alone, New Orleans taxpayers have paid more than half a million dollars to address issues related to pavement crackings, flooding, and water puddles across the tarmac. Satellite radar data has shown ground movements are occurring at a rate of a few millimeters each year. The money already spent on repairs has certainly not fixed the problem.
