A consortium of industry players is running some tests for the Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) in Sweden, to assess the performance of the devices under extreme weather conditions. The pilot train underwent its first inspection in Gothenburg, showing that \u201cthe couplers have been performing well and the overall state was very satisfactory\u201d.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The train will now be periodically reassessed every six months until the completion of the tests, scheduled for the end of 2026.<\/p>\n

The initiative involved the Swedish infrastructure manager Trafikveket, state-owned operator Green Cargo, the Lindholmen Science Park, Svensk Maskinprovning and DAC coupler manufacturers Voith and Dellner. The train is running between N\u00e4ssj\u00f6 and Gothenburg Port on a daily basis loaded with components from steel company SSAB.<\/p>\n
