forecourt and improved car parking.

Recently, Inland Rail sought community feedback on a range of design details including, landscaping and plant selection, colour palettes, forecourt seating, signage, and heritage interpretation within the precinct.

Euroa residents indicated a preference for muted red panels on the station pedestrian underpass to complement the heritage buildings in Euroa and favoured the Handbury Street pedestrian underpass walls to match the station underpass design.

In addition, Euroa locals endorsed a natural colour pallet for the forecourt seating, consistent with the existing seating in Binney Street.

Feedback and comments from more than 260 respondents – face-to-face and online – will now shape the final design decisions, including heritage interpretation of the Euroa goods shed.

Most residents suggested materials from the goods shed, particularly the large foundation stones, should be used within the railway precinct, along with interpretive signage to connect the materials to the historical context.

“Euroa locals have played a significant role in the design and development of the Inland Rail project in Euroa.

“It’s great to see the community so passionate about the project and their contribution has strongly influenced the final design.

“The community has been very patient through the lengthy design process, but this year they will see the major construction start to deliver this significant and transformative project for Euroa.”

The post Euroa residents tick off Inland Rail designs
