B-29 Doc is one of 1,644 B-29 Superfortress aircraft built by the Boeing Company in Wichita during World War II and one of only two B-29 bombers still airworthy and flying today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>&#8220;Air shows provide unique opportunities for people to get up close and personal with historic and present-day aircraft,&#x201D;<\/em> said Mark Novak, B-29 Doc chief pilot and retired United States Air Force B-1 Lancer and KC-135 pilot. <em>&#x201C;When we can showcase B-29 Doc and let people climb inside history and get a hands-on look at what was state-of-the-art technology during World War II, and then share the stories of the Greatest Generation at the same time, we ensure the preservation of our nation&#x2019;s aviation heritage for generations to come.&#x201D;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-87912\" src=\"https:\/\/vintageaviationnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/B-29-Doc-Crowd.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"901\" height=\"435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vintageaviationnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/B-29-Doc-Crowd.png 901w, https:\/\/vintageaviationnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/B-29-Doc-Crowd-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/vintageaviationnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/B-29-Doc-Crowd-768x371.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 901px) 100vw, 901px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Doc will be on static display during the show and attendees will have access to ground and cockpit tours.
