Hannibal, the intermodal transport operator of Italian intermodal company Contship, is expanding its network. The company is launching a connection between Melzo, near Milan in Italy, with Moerdijk in the Netherlands. It is eyeing a quick expansion of the service early in the new year.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Contship \u201cannounces a new intermodal service by A2B-online, which will connect Melzo with Moerdijk, in the Netherlands\u201d, the Italian company writes. It wants to quickly expand the service, scaling up from the initial 3 weekly round-trips to 4 round-trips by April 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis connection represents a significant step in strengthening commercial ties between
\nthe Netherlands and Italy, perfectly aligning with our objective of optimizing our
\ncustomers\u2019 supply chains,\u201d commented Andrea Spagnuolo, Sales and Business Development Manager at Contship.<\/p>\n

Strategic choice<\/h2>\n

Contship points out that the choice for Moerdijk is a strategic one. \u201cAs a multimodal hub located within a port boasting over 40 kilometres of roads and 35 kilometres of rail tracks, it enjoys a privileged position offering further connections to various destinations in the United Kingdom.\u201d<\/p>\n
