A house has toppled down a hill in an apparent landslide in Victoria\u2019s Mornington Peninsula, leaving one man in hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency services were called to a property on View Point Rd in McCrae \u2013 about 59km south of Melbourne \u2013 about 8.45am on Tuesday after a landslide caused the building to crash down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building collapsed and fell onto its side, encased with trees and shrubbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paramedics, firefighters and the SES are on the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVolunteers are working to make the scene safe,\u201d a spokesman for SES told NewsWire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resident Tanina Osborne said on social media that she had just completed a swim when she heard an \u201calmighty tumble\u201d from behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She turned around and watched the house crashing and sliding down the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been a massive landslide in McCrae,\u201d she said in a video uploaded on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe heard this almighty tumble, like a truck load of rock had been dumped on the ground. It turns out it was a house.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another resident, Kim, told 3AW the house was completely \u201cdestroyed\u201d by the collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is unbelievable,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDestroyed, it has slid down (and) landed into the back of another house.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Frankston man in his 50s has suffered a broken leg as a result of the house collapsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was treated by paramedics on the scene and was trasnported to Frankston hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Point Nepean Rd has been closed in both directions between Latrobe Pde and Coburn Ave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VicEmergency has issued a warning for residents to stay away from the area, as the slope may continue to move for hours or days afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
