Today it is remembered as a classic, but in the 1960s, the world saw it as futuristic. The jet first came into service in 1970, but it was developed in the 1960s, and             <span class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\" data-id=\"60363\"style=\";  ;\" class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\"><a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/boeing\/\"  ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static0.simpleflyingimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/boeing-icon.png\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>Boeing<\/a><\/span> created mock-ups advertising the massive new aircraft around 1967 and 1968. The mock-ups show how Boeing thought the new 747-100 could be configured.
