The Frankfurt am Main Labour Court has rejected Deutsche Bahn\u2019s request for an interim injunction to prevent GDL\u2019s strike planned between 9 and 12 January. The court decided the union has the right to strike despite DB\u2019s claims. Now, DB is appealing this decision before the Hessian State Labour Court.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The German state-owned railway company has already resorted to the Hessian State Labour Court<\/a> about the situation with GDL. DB has submitted a request to the court to examine whether the union is still eligible to participate in the collective bargaining negotiations, considering that it has rejected all offers made by the railway company and is proceeding to extended industrial action.<\/p>\n

Now, the Hessian court will determine two cases between DB and GDL, in an attempt to clarify the situation and possibly provide a solution to the escalating tension between the two parties.<\/p>\n

Strike takes place as planned<\/h2>\n

GDL is launching a several-day strike that will cover most of this week\u2019s working days. Freight services will be affected starting Tuesday, 9 January, at 18:00. The industrial action is expected to last until the evening of Friday, 12 January, with a substantial impact on cargo transport operations.<\/p>\n
