As they retire, they are sent to the boneyard at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona. Publicly available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dm.af.mil\/Portals\/99\/309%20AMARG%20Public%20Aircraft%20Inventory%20for%2017%20October%202024.pdf?ver=OxR0erJZ8jl3Qc2Q8WPKig%3D%3D\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" >data<\/a> from the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (the group responsible for maintaining the aircraft in storage at the boneyard) shows that the             <span class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\" data-id=\"306101\"style=\";  ;\" class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\"><a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/united-states-air-force\/\"  >United States Air Force<\/a><\/span> sent at least a total of 39 A-10s to be mothballs at the famous Boneyard.
