KLM (KL-KLM)<\/span><\/a> is not just one of Europe\u2019s most recognizable carriers, but the oldest airline in the world still operating today. Founded in 1919, the Dutch flag carrier today boasts a vast fleet of 175 aircraft that includes widebodies, narrowbodies and regional jets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The newest widebody jet in service at KLM is <\/span>PH-BKM<\/span><\/a>, a brand new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner built in June 2023. Based at <\/span>Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS)<\/span><\/a>, the aircraft is frequently deployed to destinations across KLM\u2019s long haul network, including <\/span>Bogota (BOG)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>New York (JFK)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Panama City (PTY)<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Los Angeles (LAX)<\/span><\/a>. KLM\u2019s Boeing 747 fleet<\/span><\/h3>\n

KLM operates three Boeing 747-400 freighters. The oldest of which is <\/span>PH-CKA<\/span><\/a>, which was built in March 2003. This aircraft frequently visits airports including <\/span>Nairobi (NBO)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Hahare (HRE)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Johannesburg (JNB)<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0 and <\/span>Santiago (SCL)<\/span><\/a>. The newest narrowbody aircraft in service with KLM is PH-BCL. This Boeing 737-800 was built in December 2019 and operates 2-3 flights per day to destinations including <\/span>Milan (MXP)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Edinburgh (EDI)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Lisbon (LIS)<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Istanbul (IST)<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The oldest narrowbody in the fleet is also a Boeing 737, in this case a Boeing 737-900 registered PH-BXO. Built in June 2001, this is one of the 5 larger 737 \u2018Next Generation\u2019 family aircraft operated by the airline. Based in Amsterdam (AMS), the aircraft operates 2-3 flights per day to destinations including <\/span>Berlin (BER)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Nantes (NTE)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Manchester (MAN)<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Stockholm (ARN)<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Regional jets<\/span><\/h3>\n

KLM operates a total of 65 regional jets, all of which are Embraer models. Whilst the Embraer E-Jet family could be considered narrowbodies, we will consider them regional jets for the sake of this review.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The newest regional jet in service at KLM is <\/span>PH-NXP,<\/span><\/a> an Embraer E195-E2 built in June 2023. This aircraft operates several flights per-day to destinations including <\/span>Stavanger (SVG)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Nice (NCE)<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>Aberdeen (ABZ)<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Frankfurt (FRA)<\/span><\/a>. With 18 aircraft in service, KLM is one of the largest European customers for the latest generation of Embraer\u2019s E Jet series.
