Costain<\/a> has announced that the company\u2019s headquarters will be relocating to 70 St Mary Axe, a new, modern head office in the heart of the City of London.<\/p>\n

Costain will occupy all 17,181 sq ft of the 7th\u00a0floor of 70 St Mary Axe as it increases its presence in the capital. The move is expected to complete in the second half of 2024.<\/p>\n

The office will have capacity for approximately 125 desks, increasing Costain\u2019s existing London capacity by around 400 per cent. The space is being designed to support multiple user experiences, with permanent and hot desks, customer meeting rooms, training areas and informal meeting spaces, with integrated smart technology throughout.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alex Vaughan, Costain\u2019s Chief Executive, said:\u00a0\u201cThis is an exciting new chapter in Costain\u2019s 159-year history and one that points to a bright future. I\u2019m really looking forward to the tremendous opportunities that the new head office will provide to all our people and our customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the last few years, working requirements have changed, with increased co-location with our customers and dynamic working. We need an office that makes it easier for our people, customers and partners to connect, collaborate and create, and our new head office will do just that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company says the new office was selected with sustainability in mind, with the building having the highest energy efficiency certification, including a BREEAM Excellent rating, and space for 328 bicycles. Easily accessible from mainline transport hubs, including the Elizabeth Line and London\u2019s Liverpool Street Station, the location will encourage the use of public transport.<\/p>\n

As part of the move, Costain will vacate its existing Maidenhead and London offices. The company will maintain a presence in Maidenhead for employees based there and is finalising a suitable location.<\/p>\n
