Cross River Rail<\/a>\u2019s underground stations are rising from the ground as the installation of station canopies begins across the project.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Three massive roof modules have been lifted into place at Woolloongabba.<\/p>\n

The sections are being lifted into place by a huge 800-tonne crawler crane, giving the best sense yet of how the station will look at ground level.<\/p>\n

Woolloongabba will be just minutes by train to the new Albert Street Station<\/a> in Brisbane\u2019s CBD as well as the growing health, science and education precinct at Boggo Road.<\/p>\n

The Underground station is 27 <\/span>metres <\/span>below surface level and the platform is <\/span>220 <\/span>metres <\/span>for future capacity<\/p>\n

Cross River Rail is a second river crossing at the core of the rail network with capacity to run as many as 24 trains in each direction.<\/p>\n

Not only does this enable increased frequency of trains across the whole of South East Queensland, a second rail path through the CBD will reduce congestion, increase network reliability and improve rail as a customer experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
