One of the most remarkable was the             <span class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\" data-id=\"139334\"style=\";  ;\" class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\"><a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/italy\/\"  >Italian<\/a><\/span> Stipa-Caproni &#8211; a tubular fuselage aircraft with a piston engine in the middle. Some have regarded the Stipa-Caproni as a sort of             <span class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\" data-id=\"257664\"style=\";  ;\" class=\"display-card-hyperlink display-card-hyperlink-no-vignette\"><a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/tag\/jet-engines\/\"  >proto-jet engine<\/a><\/span>. The Stipa-Caproni was the product of the aeronautical engineer Luigi Stipi and the plane manufacturer Caproni.
