{"id":156048,"date":"2024-12-09T11:02:07","date_gmt":"2024-12-09T01:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=156048"},"modified":"2024-12-09T11:04:14","modified_gmt":"2024-12-09T01:04:14","slug":"v-line-upgrading-warrnambool-line-i-think-not","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=156048","title":{"rendered":"V\/Line upgrading Warrnambool line, I think not!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>We\u2019re giving Warrnambool Line passengers more certainty around seating over the summer holiday period by introducing a reservation-only seating trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re visiting family or friends, travelling for a major event or holidaying in beautiful south-west Victoria, this trial will provide greater confidence when planning your travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trial begins tomorrow, so passengers can plan ahead for the holiday period and make a reservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the trial, if all seats are booked on a service, passengers would then have the option of purchasing an unreserved ticket, which alerts them that they may have to stand for all or part of their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With cheaper fares, extra services, more reliable trains and more certainty about seating, we\u2019re supporting Warrnambool Line passengers and their travel needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage Warrnambool Line passengers to plan ahead and reserve a seat by booking online at vline.com.au, at a staffed V\/Line or premium Metro station, by calling 1800 800 007 or by visiting a retail ticket agent.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This is simply an acknowledgement of how broken the Warrnambool line has become and how v\/Line are seeking to cover up their poor decisions around the deployment of Vlocity trains on the line despite over 800 signatures on a petition to not. The Warrnambool Council is concerned about the changes as are other politicians in the ALP.
