The answer can be summed up in one (unsatisfactory) word: depends (or rather, it depends on the mission set). The nature of the modern battlefield is that it changes.Often, not only do tactics change, but so too does the role of some of the equipment. Military equipment needs to find a practical use on the modern battlefield, or it will become obsolete. This is perhaps why         <span class=\"display-card-hyperlink-article\" data-id=\"2036413\"><a href=\"https:\/\/simpleflying.com\/a-10-warthog-future-analysis\/\" >the A-10 Warthog is being retired<\/a><\/span> while the Apache isn&#8217;t &#8211;
