The Spanish infrastructure manager Adif tendered the adaptation of 46 overpasses between Bobadilla and Santa Cruz de Mudela, in the south of the country. This stretch of over 250 kilometres is a significant section of the future Algeciras-Zaragoza rolling highway.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The infrastructure will be adapted to allow the transport of semi-trailers on the railways. \u201cwork will be carried out on the railway platform and modifications to the height of the catenary and the contact wire, among others. Additionally, the contract includes work on six metal bridges\u201d, Adif specified.<\/p>\n

468 million euros for the project<\/h2>\n

The total cost for the Algeciras-Zaragoza rolling highway, which will connect Spain\u2019s largest port with one of its most important logistics nodes, is set at 468 million euros. Of these, 377 have already been mobilised, Adif claimed. However, many projects are still in the tendering phase. Last month, another tender for over 64 million euros was put out to upgrade the Algecrias-Bobadilla section. It needs to be mentioned that the opening of this rolling highway, initially expected for the end of this year, has been indefinitely postponed.<\/p>\n
