{"id":153767,"date":"2024-12-02T12:52:41","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T02:52:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/?p=118108"},"modified":"2024-12-02T12:52:41","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T02:52:41","slug":"temporary-weekend-closure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=153767","title":{"rendered":"Temporary weekend closure"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Adleaide-Metro.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;\"><figcaption>Image\/Adelaide Metro<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>There will be full line closures on the Outer Harbor, Port Dock and Grange rail lines from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 December 2024.<\/strong><span id=\"more-118108\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This closure will allow for the continuation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/pedestrian-crossing-upgraded\/\">upgrades<\/a> to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelaidemetro.com.au\/about-us\/news\/news-items\/2024\/jane-street-pedestrian-crossing-upgrade\"  rel=\"noopener\">Jane Street, West Croydon pedestrian crossing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The current Jane Street, West Croydon pedestrian crossing closed from November\u00a0 and is expected to open December 2024 due to upgrades to improve pedestrian access and safety.<\/p>\n<p>The upgrade will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demolition of the existing pedestrian crossing.<\/li>\n<li>Installation of a new Active Pedestrian Crossing.<\/li>\n<li>Accessible ramps for safe crossing of the railway line.<\/li>\n<li>New emergency help phones.<\/li>\n<li>Improved Public Announcement speaker.<\/li>\n<li>CCTV installed on new light poles and in the underpass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An Active Pedestrian Crossing has been installed which will automatically close the pedestrian gates when a train is approaching the crossing.
