{"id":150753,"date":"2024-11-22T08:14:16","date_gmt":"2024-11-21T22:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/?p=118041"},"modified":"2024-11-22T08:14:16","modified_gmt":"2024-11-21T22:14:16","slug":"ara-initiatives-in-new-zealand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=150753","title":{"rendered":"ARA initiatives in New Zealand"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Kiwirail-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" style=\"float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;\"><figcaption>Image: Gary\/stock.adobe.com<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>This week the Australasian Railway Association (<a href=\"https:\/\/ara.net.au\/\">ARA<\/a>) continued progress on several new industry initiatives that it is seeking to establish in New Zealand in 2025, with a particular focus on the workforce and safety regulatory reform. \u00a0<\/strong><span id=\"more-118041\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.railexpress.com.au\/rail-industry-news-australia-new-zealand\/industry-organisations\/ara\/\">ARA<\/a> met with members and explored several opportunities to broaden the reach of its existing Young Rail Professional and Women in Rail initiatives to generate more engagement with New Zealand members. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The ARA will engage with New Zealand stakeholders in the new year to inform them of ARA\u2019s activity in these areas and information on how they can get involved, with a view to host a networking opportunity event in New Zealand later next year.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The ARA also met with senior safety representatives from New Zealand rail organisations to discuss opportunities for industry collaboration on safety issues and rail safety regulatory reform.
