The Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU<\/a>) and the New South Wales have come to an agreement to cancel this weekends planned industrial action.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The industrial action was due to commence on Friday and end on Sunday but an agreement has now been reached to avert the strike to allow for two weeks of negotiations.<\/p>\n

As part of the deal, Premier Chris Minns said the government has agreed to run as many 24-hour train services as possible this weekend, starting on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Premier Chris Minns said the government agreed to run as many 24-hour rail services as possible this weekend on Sydney trains in exchange for the strike to be called off to allow time for two weeks of intensive negotiations with the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU).<\/p>\n

This comes after Sydney Trains met with<\/a> the RTBU\u00a0and the union agreed to run a regular train service on Thursday, including the planned 86 additional special event services to Olympic Park for the Pearl Jam concert.<\/p>\n
