Two freight trains have collided in Silesia, southern Poland. A train driver was taken to the hospital for observation, but seems to have gotten away unscathed. Images show major damage to the trains, and it will take some time before the route can be used again. One of the trains belongs to PKP Cargo.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The collision occurred near the town of Ku\u017ania Raciborska at 1.30 in the morning on 21 November. Seven grain wagons derailed, after which a PKP Cargo train travelling in the opposite direction ran into them, says the rail operator. At the same time, PKP Cargo says that the exact causes and circumstances of the accident still need to be clarified. The driver of PKP Cargo was taken to the hospital, but got away with bruises.<\/p>\n

Efforts to put the trains back on the rails are supposed to be ongoing, but the line between Bierawa and N\u0119dza is unlikely to be in use again before Monday, according to Polish media. PKP Cargo says that the entire Racib\u00f3rz – K\u0119dzierzyn Ko\u017ale line may be blocked for a longer period of time.<\/p>\n
