Czechia may get going with renovations at the \u010cesk\u00e1 T\u0159ebov\u00e1 railway junction, not far from the Polish border, at the start of the new year. The project has received a building permit, and as soon as the tender for a construction contractor is finalised, the works can begin. An upgrade at the rail node is long overdue, with the last major works taking place in the 1960s.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>The 780-million euro project\u2019s building permit still needs authorisation, and once a construction contractor is also selected, the construction works will take off. It is expected that that will happen at the beginning of 2025. The works are supposed to last until 2031.<\/p>\n

As part of the renovation, Czechia will refurbish all of the node\u2019s platforms, allow for higher passing speeds at 80 kilometres an hour, reduce noise pollution and connect the hub to the central dispatcher in Prague.<\/p>\n

The planned upgrade at the \u010cesk\u00e1 T\u0159ebov\u00e1 junction has been long overdue. It got its last makeover during an electrification project in the 1960s. Czechia discussed a new renovation of the rail node for the past four decades, but now it is finally pulling through.<\/p>\n
