{"id":14621,"date":"2024-02-24T11:36:45","date_gmt":"2024-02-24T01:36:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=14621"},"modified":"2024-02-24T11:36:45","modified_gmt":"2024-02-24T01:36:45","slug":"ria-scoops-three-awards-including-trade-association-of-the-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vibewire.com.au\/?p=14621","title":{"rendered":"RIA scoops three awards, including Trade Association of the Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last night, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">Railway Industry Association (RIA)<\/a> won three gongs at the national 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taforum.org\/\">Trade Association Forum (TAF)<\/a> Awards, including the coveted Trade Association of the Year award.<\/p>\n<p>The Awards were held at a prestigious ceremony on 22 February, at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in central London. As well as Trade Association of the Year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> also won the Diversity &amp; Inclusion Award, and Operations Director Gaynor Pates received an Outstanding Contribution Award, for her services to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taforum.org\/\">TAF<\/a> as its Chair in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.taforum.org\/\">TAF<\/a> is \u201cthe trade association of trade associations\u201d, representing more than 170 UK-based trade associations who in turn represent more than 190,000 businesses across the country and from every sector. Its Awards recognise, reward and promote best practice amongst trade bodies across the UK. The judges said:<\/p>\n<p>The Trade Association of the Year Award win was in recognition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> being a persuasive voice to speak up for the interests of the UK\u2019s rail supply sector in a challenging year with the scrapping of the second phase of HS2, and that , \u201cthroughout the year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> has shown leadership, secured lobbying wins, and introduced innovative initiatives that allowed it to deliver for its members\u2026 and the judges were impressed by their continued member growth, the implementation of new initiatives and ability to be powerful champions for their sector\u201d.<br \/>\nThe Diversity &amp; Inclusion Award recognised the work of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/womeninrail.org\/\">Women in Rail\u2019s<\/a> Equality, Diversity &amp; Inclusion (EDI) Charter for Rail, and the progress revealed in the 2023 EDI Charter Annual Report.<br \/>\nThe Outstanding Achievement Award was given to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> Operations Director Gaynor Pates for leading and driving transformation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taforum.org\/\">TAF<\/a> over the last two years, culminating in the biggest ever <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taforum.org\/\">TAF<\/a> Awards Ceremony last night.<\/p>\n<p>Darren Caplan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> Chief Executive, said: \u201cThese award wins really are welcome recognition, both for the hard work of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">Railway Industry Association<\/a> team, but also for UK rail more widely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c2023 was a tough year for the railway industry, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> team colleagues have been working tirelessly to champion both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA<\/a> member interests and promote a dynamic rail supply sector, whether UK-wide or through our six Nations &amp; Regions networks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese wins are a great vote of confidence by our peers in other sectors to recognise rail and suppliers\u2019 efforts to make the rail supply sector bigger and better in an incredibly challenging year, and also to develop a more diverse and inclusive workforce, attracting and harnessing a wider array of talent to the benefit of all organisations operating in UK rail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA special mention should also go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riagb.org.uk\/\">RIA\u2019s<\/a> Operations Director Gaynor Pates for her Outstanding Achievement Award.
