The 1920s heyday of rail travel to the Southern Highlands has been returned to prominence, with restoration works completed on the historic Bundanoon Railway station.<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The station restoration project has been funded under the NSW Government\u2019s innovative\u00a0Community Heritage Program<\/a>, which restores and repurposes historic,<\/a> government owned rail buildings and sites in NSW.<\/p>\n

Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Transport, Anna Watson said, \u201cThis landmark initiative reflects the NSW Government\u2019s commitment to preserving and showcasing significant heritage assets – while providing opportunities for community storytelling and tourism.”<\/p>\n

\u2018The station precinct, renowned for its architectural charm, historical significance and community connection, has been given a new lease of life.”<\/p>\n

Lyndal Punch, A\/CEO of the Transport Asset Holding Entity spoke about the project.<\/p>\n

“As the owner of this valuable heritage asset, we are delighted to see it ready to once again serve as a vibrant space for the local community in Bundanoon.”<\/p>\n

The precinct\u2019s buildings have been restored progressively since 2018, with key features\u00a0including<\/p>\n
