The NYMR Steam Gala 2022 is something to look forward to and we have the latest news about the locomotive line up. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) has announced the latest visiting locomotives which will be delighting visitors at its popular Annual Steam Gala<\/a> on 22nd to 25th September 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n

BR Standard 5 73156 \u00a9 Andrew Jeffery<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

BR Standard 5 No. 73156 will be visiting courtesy of the Great Central Railway in Loughborough. It is only one of five surviving Standard Class 5 locomotives from the 172 originally built by British Railways Workshops between 1951 and 1956. It returned to service for the first time since its withdrawal from British Railways in October 2017.<\/p>\n

Also joining the NYMR Steam Gala 2022 is No. 85 Taff Vale Railway Class 02, courtesy of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in Howarth. This was one of the locomotives that worked at the Lambton, Hetton & Joicey Colliery. During the gala, the locomotive will team up with the NYMR\u2019s No. 29, \u2018Peggy\u2019, which also worked at the colliery. <\/p>\n

No. 73156 and No. 85 join LNER A4 \u2018Sir Nigel Gresley<\/a>\u2019 No. 60007, which will be appearing in its temporary semi-matt black livery. <\/p>\n

Visitors will be able to view these iconic guest engines alongside the NYMR\u2019s home fleet.  <\/p>\n

The NYMR Steam Gala 2022 is a great opportunity to see NYMR\u2019s demonstration freight train now lovingly restored by the NYMR\u2019s Volunteer Wagon Group. <\/p>\n
