Ukraine is looking to restore the ferry connection to Georgia, and reportedly anticipates the return of the service soon. The sea route across the Black Sea would link up the country with the Middle Corridor.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Yuriy Gusev, Ukraine\u2019s ambassador to Azerbaijan, made statements along those lines at the Black and Caspian Freight Forum, according to online publication Azernews. Gusev reportedly said that the restoration of the ferry connection would allow Ukraine to play a \u201ccrucial role\u201d in Middle Corridor logistics.<\/p>\n

“Transportation and logistics are of great importance for countries, especially for Ukraine. We anticipate the restoration of ferry connections between Ukraine and Georgia soon. This will enable our country to become a vital part of the global Middle Corridor and transit route\u201d, the ambassador reportedly stated.<\/p>\n

Georgia hosts a part of the important Baku – Tbilisi – Kars<\/a> section of the Middle Corridor, facilitating rail freight traffic between China and Europe. A restoration of the ferry between Ukraine and the Caucasian country would give it direct access to the cross-continental route.<\/p>\n
