Rail freight in Southern Poland is also affected by floods, similarly to the extreme weather conditions in Czechia and Austria. Traffic on mainlines is reportedly no longer impacted, but other lines can still experience hindrances.<\/strong>
\n<\/span>Infrastructure manager PKP PLK reports that it is keeping track of the circumstances in the region, and that mainlines are accessible. Sixteen local lines have had all traffic cancelled, PKP PLK says.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure manager limits its reporting to information about passenger traffic, but rail operator PKP Cargo makes clear that freight has also been affected. \u201cOur fleet was also flooded, but our brave services are controlling the situation on site, showing responsibility and courage\u201d, the company writes.<\/p>\n

According to PKP Cargo, its southern Silesian plant is encountering restrictions in traffic. The company says that lines from Kamieniec Z\u0105bkowicki are closed in the directions of K\u0119dzierzyn Ko\u017ale, K\u0142odzko G\u0142\u00f3wne and Jaworzyna due to flooding. In the direction of Wroc\u0142aw, a track is planned to be closed.<\/p>\n

Lastly, a number of trains and locomotives of the rail operator are flooded at K\u0142odzko G\u0142\u00f3wne station, and PKP Cargo says that the engines of the locomotives will have to be dried out.<\/p>\n
