Austrian rail operator \u00d6BB has launched not one, but&nbsp;<em>two&nbsp;<\/em>brand new sleeper routes to the Italian capital this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new routes, which will shuttle passengers&nbsp;from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/vienna\">Vienna<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/munich\">Munich<\/a>&nbsp;to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/rome\">Rome<\/a>, kicked off this week to coincide with the launch of \u00d6BB\u2019s brand-new (and very swish) Nightjet trains. These new trains&nbsp;represent a huge upgrade to&nbsp;\u00d6BB\u2019s overnight fleet, with enhanced comfort and privacy&nbsp;for rail travellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what can you expect? The new trains feature seven cars, including two seating cars, three couchette cars and two sleeping cars. Among the&nbsp;upgraded features is free wifi, more space for luggage, more charging sockets and \u2018mobile phone-permeable windows\u2019.&nbsp;Sounds pretty fancy, right? You can read more about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/news\/a-brand-new-sleeper-train-will-soon-run-to-some-of-italys-best-cities-071224\">the new trains and the other routes they\u2019ll be running on here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the launch of the Vienna-Rome service on September 10, \u00d6BB CEO Andreas Matth\u00e4 called the new-generation trains \u2018a game-changer for night train travel in Europe\u2019, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.railtech.com\/all\/2024\/09\/12\/new-nightjet-sleeper-train-links-vienna-and-munich-to-rome\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Railtech<\/em><\/a>. \u2018It brings a huge leap in comfort and also offers significantly more privacy for our travellers,\u2019&nbsp;Matth\u00e4&nbsp;continued.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vienna is fast becoming&nbsp;Europe\u2019s&nbsp;night train capital, with more sleeper train connections than any other EU capital.&nbsp;<br><br>Prices for the Vienna-Rome service on the new-generation Nightjet trains start at \u20ac34.90 for a seated carriage, \u20ac54.90 per person for a bed in a four-person couchette (solo travellers can pay the same price for a mini cabin&nbsp;with the advance&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oebb.at\/en\/tickets-kundenkarten\/oesterreich-europa\/sparschiene\">Sparschiene ticket<\/a>), and a seat in a private sleeping car can be purchased for as little as \u20ac99.90.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More on Europe\u2019s sleeper train renaissance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>New night services are launching left, right and centre across the continent.
