Industrial action at regional passenger rail operator V\/Line will continue<\/a> on Monday 19 February with the third four-hour work stoppage this month.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The RTBU<\/a> is now seeking urgent intervention from the Allan State Government to resolve this dispute.<\/p>\n

RTBU Branch Secretary Vik Sharma said V\/Line workers are seeking fair and reasonable Enterprise Agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe continuing industrial actions will regrettably impact regional commuters and will cause significant disruptions to services on those days,” he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe RTBU has been trying to negotiate with V\/Line management since June last year, and workers have been taking industrial action since December.<\/p>\n

\u201cV\/Line strikes will continue until the Allan State Government recognises that regional jobs are as important s city jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis stalemate at V\/Line has gone for too long \u2013 we call on the Allan State Government to intervene and sort this out as quickly as possible,” Sharma said.<\/p>\n

Operations staff including conductors, train controllers, stations and customer service staff, authorised officers, stop work between 3am and 7am, which will bring the network to a halt and have a significant impact on services into the afternoon.<\/p>\n

The entire V\/Line network across the state will be affected.<\/p>\n

The RTBU has provided V\/Line with ample notice to have the outstanding matters resolved whilst providing the travelling public with maximum notice to make alternative travel arrangements for the day.<\/p>\n
