The United States Army has traditionally been considered the “ground-pounding” (as it were) branch of the US Armed Forces, and understandably so, what with the prevalence of the Artillery (“King of Battle;” or less formally, “cannon cockers”), Infantry (“Queen of Battle”), and Armor branches and whatnot.
