The\u00a0Calder Park Drive, Calder Park<\/a>\u00a0level crossing removal project has achieved another major milestone, with the last concrete panel for the road bridge wall lifted into place.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Crews have been installing the giant panels piece by piece since February, as well as 2304 steel reinforcement straps to hold the panels in place.<\/p>\n

The design of the 264 concrete panels \u2013 some measuring up to 8.5m \u2013 was inspired by the nearby Organ Pipes rock facade.<\/p>\n

The reinforced retaining walls support new road bridge infrastructure and allow for beams to be lifted into place in the next stage of construction.<\/p>\n

Over the past few months, crews have also been working on building the foundations of the road bridge and completing ground improvement works.<\/p>\n

Getting rid of the level crossing at Calder Park Drive will make journeys faster and local roads safer.<\/p>\n

The Calder Park Drive Level Crossing will be gone for good in 2025 and bring the Sunbury Line one step closer to being level crossing free in 2025.<\/p>\n
